LEO eLearning Platform The LEO eLearning Platform is a comprehensive and versatile online Learning Management System (LMS) which allows easy and effective management of complex learning and teaching processes. The LEO LMS is responsible for co-ordinating all elements involved in the e-learning process ranging from user registration and learning groups' organisation, through to content assignments and setting learning goals, monitoring learners' activity, managing results and presenting detailed activity and progress reports. LEO was designed to support the specific needs of the K-12 education system. The platform allows the creation and management of multiple virtual schools, called eSchools, each of which supports virtual classes, called eClasses. The LEO platform effectively replicates, albeit in a virtual world, a complex school environment, with a corresponding structure of units (classes) and with teachers and pupils registered within one consistent system. LEO's flexible architecture allows it to be deployed both for very large implementations (with thousands of schools involved) and for small installations satisfying just a single school. The LEO platform functionality is focused on leveraging the efficiency and attractiveness of the learning processes to improve pupils' achievements against local curriculum standards. The system tracks pupils' performance thereby helping teachers to individualise the learning process and improve pupils' results. LEO offers different functions for each of the different types of users, reflecting the diverse responsibilities of all involved in the education process. Whether they be a pupil, teacher, school administrator or platform supervisor each of them has a set of specific functions and options tailored to the role they play in the system. Platform Administrator:- creates virtual schools (eSchools)
- assigns school administrators
- registers the eCourses
- manages content licensing and general access rights
