Lower Primary

The subjects included in this section are Mathematics and Science. Both cover the material compulsory in primary school education, using both multimedia presentations and traditional lectures to effectively introduce these often difficult and demanding topics.

The Lower Primary (LP) lesson pages (except the introductory page) reflect an accepted pattern, in which on a page there are always 5 fixed elements:

  • a page title,
  • a concise introductory text,
  • an exercise,
  • a reference panel (with buttons to media),
  • two helpers (coaches).

These elements are usually situated in the same areas of the page. A standard layout of page elements indicates a suggested order of their use and facilitates the use of content. The accepted order of use of the elements of the page is in accordance with the inductive method of teaching, which the author of the prototype lesson has employed.

Content is accompanied by one or two animated characters - coaches:
  • Coach A - informs about the content of a lesson (on the introductory page) and the content of each of the pages,
  • Coach B - introduces an exercise, comments on the progress in solving an exercise and sums up the exercise which has just been solved.
For the user this solution is:
  • a form of a content-related support,
  • a source of additional knowledge,
  • a substitute of a teacher or a detailed help system,
  • additional motivation to study using e-content.
